We want to hear your inspiring stories in our "Share Your 'ONE' Moment" Video Contest! Tell us why you use CommonWealth One or how we have been able to help you achieve a goal and you could win up to $1,000 cash!

Here's how you can participate:
  1. Grab your camera and start recording! Get creative and let your CommonWealth One story shine. Share your financial success story in a short video, no longer than 5 minutes. 

  2. Submit your video! Submit your masterpiece via our Dropbox by January 31!

  3. Sit back in anticipation. Winners will be contacted by February 15, 2024.

Once our five top videos are chosen, we will be creating professional videos to spotlight their stories and share them with the rest of our membership and the communities we serve.

“Share Your ‘ONE’ Moment Video Contest”! Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR TRANSACTION NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN and will not increase your chances of winning.

Eligibility: CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union’s “Share Your ‘ONE’ Moment Video Contest” is open to all CommonWealth ONE Federal Credit Union members that are legal residents of the United States and who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union (“Sponsor”), their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children and siblings, and their respective spouses) and individuals living in the same households of such employees are ineligible. Void where prohibited by law. Prizes subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Entry: By participating in this Contest, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and to Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest.  The Contest submission period begins at 12:01 am E. D. T. on November 1, 2023 and ends at 11:59 pm E.D.T. on January 31, 2024 and is subject to change or termination at any time.   Entrant acknowledges that Sponsor may use entry without any compensation to entrant or persons appearing in the video, in any and all media, throughout the world, in perpetuity, including derivative works.

How To Enter: Create a video testimonial that describes why you use CommonWealth One, How CommonWealth One has helped you, and/or how membership has made a difference in your life.  Videos must be submitted in one of the following formats:  Windows Media (.wmv), 3GP (cell phones), AVI (windows), MOV (Mac), MP4 (iPod/PSP), or MPEG and cannot exceed five (5) minutes in length.   Only clear and audible videos will be accepted. All entries submitted become the sole property of Sponsor. You may enter as often as you like, but each entry must be a unique video.  Subsequent entries of the same video throughout the Contest will be disqualified.  You may submit your contest entry via the designated Dropbox folder. Please include your full name in the file name title of your video and provide your full name and preferred contact number in your video submission.  Subject Line: “My ONE Moment Video” and include your preferred contact number.   All Submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. E.D.T. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Sponsor is not responsible for late or unsuccessful attempts to enter. 

Entry Requirements:  All entries must meet the following guidelines:

  • The entry and all elements of the entry must be the entrant’s original work and previously unpublished.
  • The entry must not exceed five (5) minutes total running time.
  • The entry must tell your story and convey a positive experience with CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union.
  • The entry must not violate the intellectual property rights of any third party. That means that the video should not contain a trademark or logo of another company, nor any copyrighted materials such as music, photographs, or posters.
  • The entry must be suitable for publication and publicity purposes as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Entries must be in good taste and must not contain obscene or defamatory statements nor portray Sponsor or any third party in any way that might tend to subject them to public contempt, scandal, disrepute or ridicule.
  • The entry may not contain the following: Nudity, profanity, any situations which expose any persons appearing in the entries to physical injury.

Sponsor reserves the right to make determinations of suitability in its sole and absolute discretion, and to disqualify any entries it determines to be inappropriate for any of the reasons listed above, or for any other reason.

Contest drawing: Eligible entries will be judged by a panel of Sponsor employees (the "Judges"). The judges will select the winners on the basis of originality and creativity, entertainment appeal and the depiction of the theme.  The judging will be conducted on or about February 15, 2024, by CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union from all eligible entries to award the five cash prizes. The decisions of the judges are final and may not be appealed. 

If your entry is selected, CommonWealth One will notify you by email, postal mail and/or phone. Winners will be required to provide identification, sign an affidavit of eligibility and a publicity release, and a "Contestant Agreement to Participate" form, or another winner will be selected.

CommonWealth One will record a video of the five winners selected. The filming will be held between February 22, 2024, and March 30, 2024, at our corporate headquarters located at 4875 Eisenhower Avenue, Suite 100, Alexandria, VA 22304 or our Harrisonburg Regional Branch located at 42 Terri Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22802 and at a reasonable time period in CommonWealth One’s discretion.  Travel to and from the recording and any related costs will be the responsibility of the finalists.  Videos will not exceed three (3) minutes in length.  All videos become the sole property of CommonWealth One. Finalists must be willing and able to attend a photo and video shoot to record their entry no later than February 28 or otherwise forfeit their entry and prize.

By participating in the video recording, the entrant is providing permission to use his/her name and photo/likeness for advertising and promotional purposes for this and similar promotions, and in perpetuity in any media, now known or hereafter devised without compensation, except where prohibited by law.  For more information, see the “Publicity” section below.

Prize: One (1) $1,000 winner, One (1) $750, One (1) $500, One (1) $350 and One (1) $250 winner will be chosen. The prizes will be awarded in the form of a deposit into the member’s CommonWealth One savings account. No substitutions or transfer of prize permitted. CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union will send the winner a 1099-MISC which will represent the value of winning this Contest. Any state or federal taxes that may be owed on prize winnings are the sole responsibility of the individual winner. The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received, i.e., if 1,000,000 entries are received the odds of winning are 5:1,000,000.

Notification: Winners will be notified by email, postal mail and/or phone. Winners will be required to provide identification, sign an affidavit of eligibility and a publicity release or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. If CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union is unable to contact the potential winner within seven (7) days of the drawing, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. This process will continue until prize is awarded. Acceptance of prize constitutes winner’s permission to use his/her name and photo/likeness for advertising and promotional purposes for this and similar promotions, and in perpetuity in any media, now known or hereafter devised without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

Other: By participating in the Contest and/or accepting prizes, entrants release, indemnify and hold harmless CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union and its representatives, officers, directors, and employees (collectively, “Releases”) from and against any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions, and/or any liability of any kind resulting from or arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance, possession, use, misuse or nonuse of any prize that may be awarded. Releases are not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Contest -related material; for stolen, lost, misdirected, late, postage-due, damaged, incomplete, inaccurate entries or mail, or for entries that are lost, misdirected, fail to enter the processing system, or are processed, reported, or transmitted late or incorrectly or are lost for any reason including computer, telephone, paper transfer or human error; or for electronic, computer, or telephonic malfunction or error. If, in the Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering, fraud, or technical difficulties with any portion of the Contest that compromise or corrupt the administration, integrity, security or fairness of the Contest, the judges reserve the right at their sole discretion to disqualify a person who tampers with the process, and select an alternate winner. The Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent of the law.

Rights In Submissions:  In consideration of entrant’s submission being reviewed and evaluated for this Contest, each entrant hereby grants to the Sponsor a non-exclusive, irrevocable, fully paid, universal license to use, copy, modify or make derivative works, sublicense, transmit, distribute, publicly perform, publish, delete or display such submission, or any portion thereof, in any media now known or hereafter devised including, but not limited to, all forms of television and all forms of internet and wireless protocol without any further right of approval or additional compensation. Each entrant grants Sponsor the right, but not the obligation, to use the story, characters, and any other information presented in the entry, including the name and likeness of entrant and any persons appearing in the entry, in a commercial or other advertising and publicity for Sponsor.

In connection with your video entry, you affirm, represent, and/or warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize Sponsor to use all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary right in all video entries to enable inclusion and use of the entry in the manner contemplated by this Contest and these Official Rules. You further agree that you will not submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret, or is otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to submit the material and enter the Contest and to grant Sponsor of all the license rights granted herein.
