CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union gave one lucky woman the chance to win $25,000 in a unique Punt, Pass and Kick sweepstakes at the Nov. 6 James Madison University football game.

LaShawn Speaks, a CommonWealth One member,  was one of five semi-finalists awarded the opportunity to do one punt, one pass and one kick to get the football all the way down the field and through the uprights at the Nov. 6 James Madison University homecoming football game. Success meant she would win $25,000.

While Speaks’ efforts did not get the football to the goal line, she still won $1,000 from the credit union. CommonWealth One has been the official credit union of James Madison University since 1992, serving students, faculty, staff, parents and the greater Harrisonburg community. “We’re pleased to be a part of the JMU Community” said CommonWealth One’s CEO, Frank Wasson.  We are looking forward to continuing to partner with both the University and the Harrisonburg community for many years to come.”

The JMU Dukes defeated the Campbell University (Buies Creek, North Carolina) Fighting Camels at Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg. The score was 51 – 14.

In addition to the $25,000 sweepstakes, CommonWealth One is continuing to give away prizes through early December. Sweepstakes entrants have a chance to win $250 every week starting Nov. 13.

The credit union is offering multiple ways to enter the sweepstakes. These include: Opening a new account at CommonWealth One to become a member of the credit union; use their CommonWealth One checking account at least six times in a month; get a CommonWealth One personal, car, home equity, or mortgage loan of $5,000 or more; meet with a CommonWealth One financial expert for a checkup; and text WIN to 833-798-0007. There is no purchase required.
